Busy Summer
I have been super busy at work helping get the 4th floor ready to open last week. It was quite an undertaking, but things went relatively smoothly. Everyone is really liking our new home and getting settled in. Our new unit is beautiful (except for too much of some pictures and not enough of other pictures). I don’t think there’s a nicer L&D unit in the state! I am glad we are moved in and it is finished. I don’t think my feet could have taken another day of it!! Although, I am sort of closed off in the nursery and staff seems to forget I’m in there. At least there’s a bathroom though.
In other news, it seems my pesky PSVT ( an extremely fast heart rate that comes on suddenly and usually goes away suddenly) from years ago has returned. Even after the ablation! Evidently, only a small percentage (like < 5%) have a recurrence. Of course it had to happen to me. My cardiologist also told me that I have a heart murmur. I knew before he told me because I heard it myself. There’s a good chance that it was caused by all the cardio training I do at the gym. I am on medication that controls the heart rate and the murmur is very slight requiring no treatment. I can still do cardio for an hour with no problem, unfortunately.
Summer is almost over and the kids will be heading back to school on Aug. 6th. But not before we go on our cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico on Monday!! Our cruise lasts until Friday. We are planning on having lots of fun and swimming a lot. We are going on a glass bottom boat on Catalina Island too.
After the cruise, we are staying in the Valley for a few days to go school shopping. The kids and I are driving down tomorrow. Sam is coming either Friday evening or Saturday. He is running the Little League State Jr. Softball tournament and can’t leave until it’s over.
