Jake is on the road to recovery
Jake went to see an orthopedic surgeon on Wednesday. I brought in Jake’s X rays from the hospital and the dr also had more taken of both his clavicle and thumb. He wasn’t concerned about the clavicle fracture at all. A sling for 4-6 weeks should be all that is required for it to heal. However, one of his thumb fractures was unstable and it caused his thumb to be dislocated from his hand - Jake couldn’t move his thumb at all. The dr tried to manually align it to get it back in position but was unsuccessful. So that meant Jake would need to have pins inserted to keep the bone in position in order to heal and regain full function and strength. He had the surgery this morning and everything went as planned. The picture in the moblog of him with his tongue hanging out is totally faked!! He still had his sense of humor throughout the whole ordeal !! He is home now and recovering in his Go Cardinals red cast!
